Currently residing in 1st place with 67 points, Real Madrid should be looking forward to extending thier lead and maintain thier position in the La Liga with a win over the home side Malaga.Malaga are on the 13th place with 29 points and did not have their last 3 games ending with 2 draws and one win in the last game at Osasuna ( 0-2).
Between the two team Real has proven more then once to be the better one but you never know what can happen, that is why we love football, right? Take for instance the Malaga home win with 3-2 in 2012. As for the other side, Real Madrid ended the last two games with 2 wins, 6-2 and the last one with 2-0.
Although Real is expecting the Champions League game against Schalke 04, on which the have a 6-1 lead on aggregate, I think this game versus Malaga is more important to win especially considering the fact that Real will be going up against Barcelona on the next match day in Primera Division. A 3 point lead can be very helpful in every situation.
Malaga will be having possible missing players in the likes of Eliseu and Welington due to injury while Jesus Gamez and Sergi Darder are suspended. Real Madrid are without Sergio Ramos because of the red card ilness and Arbeloa with S. Khedira are possibly injured.
